Yet another interesting comment exchange in the forum recently on the topic of military budget spending took my interest. This was relatively civil and informative until someone joined the fray and had the marvelous idea that the best way to defend ourselves is by disarming our own country or by reducing military power to non existent.
The best way to prevent war and aggression he argues involves stripping ourselves of our military capability which in his mind would therefore convinces everyone else that we are a harmless bug that have no ill intention to them and are therefore their best friend. And if everyone does the same then we all will live happily ever after in the little pony land since no country will attack another without a military power, right?
Took a while for me to gather back my collective mind and process how did this hippie came to this conclusion but his explanation served to remind me that some people out there need to be removed from the gene pool. Fortunately nature and history have been doing just that by ensuring the extinction of these hippies at regular interval (though new ones naturally come up from time to time), i just hope i am not next to them when the next natural cleanup occur.
PS: god forbid, i sincerely wished that he was a mere troll... but my logic sadly suspect strongly that he is unfortunately quite serious.

Game setting and gameplay
An interesting issue put forward recently in one of the forum i visited recently, does a shift in a game setting means a definite change in gameplay?
Short Answer: No,
Long Answer: Under a very specific circumstances in which the gameplay element sought by the player is inherent and exclusive to the game setting then yes, but otherwise no. A game's setting is merely a backdrop and is independent to the gameplay element with the exception above.
